Ukulele for older teens and adults - Don't let the kids have all the fun! Teens and adults can learn to play Uke too! Join us to learn how to play ukulele in a social group setting. In Level 1, we'll teach you the basics you need to know to get going on this popular instrument. You'll come away with having a few songs under your fingers and the ability to figure out more tunes on your own. Students should come to the first class with their own Ukulele. Join our beginning guitar class and get hooked on guitar! Students will need their own acoustic guitars - they'll be learning simple chords and songs in no time. Level 1 classes begin with an introductory section for 8 weeks. Students may then continue and register for an additional 8 weeks. Kent Recital Hall instructor Paul Luria leads this participatory singing course with a little background provided about the songs. The class will sing melodies and harmonies of familiar songs. The instructor will provide guitar and / or banjo accompaniment. Note: Course runs March 23 - April 27, no class April 20. Recommended Materials: Rise Up Singing: The Group-Singing Songbook. This book contains the lyrics to 1200 songs.
